Configuring D-Link GLB-502T ADSL 2+ Router for BSNL DataOne Broadband

Configuring the Router:

  1. Go to Control Panel > Network Connections
  2. Right click Local Area Network and select properties
  3. The following window will appear. Select 'Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)' and click the properties button



  4. The following screen will appear. Select 'Use the following IP address'.
    Assign the following:
    IP Address: 192.168.1.2
    Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1
    Preferred DNS server: 192.168.1.8


Connecting to the Internet:

A. Using Bridge connection


  1. Open Internet Explorer and type http://192.168.1.1/ in the address bar
  2. Type "admin" for both username and password
  3. Navigate to Setup > WAN Setup > New Connection
  4. Select connection type as "Bridge" from the dropdown menu
  5. NAME: Any name of your choice (e.g. BSNL Broadband)
  6. VPI: 0
  7. VCI: 35
  8. Leave other settings as it is
  9. Click
  10. Go to TOOLS > System Commands > Save All
  11. Close Internet Explorer
  12. Go to Control Panel > Network Connections
  13. Select 'Create a new Connection'
  14. Select 'Connect to Internet' then
  15. Select 'Setup my connection manually' then
  16. Select 'Connect using a broadband connection that requires a username and password' then
  17. Type in the ISP name (anything like "BSNL" or "DataOne" etc)
  18. Give the username and password provided to by BSNL
  19. Click
  20. Now Double click on the newly created connection; then click connect
  21. Now you should have active internet connection
B. Using PPPoE connection

  1. Open Internet Explorer and type http://192.168.1.1/ in the address bar
  2. Type "admin" for both username and password
  3. Navigate to Setup > WAN Setup > New Connection
  4. Select connection type as PPPoE from the drop down menu
  5. NAME: any name you like, VPI: 0, VCI: 35
  6. fill-up the username and password fields with the username and password provided to you.
  7. Click
  8. Go to TOOLS > System Commands > Save All, then click


  9. Now the router will be restarted
  10. Now all four lights of the router should glow
  11. Check if you can connect to the internet
